Necromunda - Blades

This is my close combat specialist. Nice increase in WS, T and W to go with the Counter Attack, Disarm, Parry and Step Aside. Taking the disarm and making the opponent lose an expensive weapon is always a brilliant moment in the game. Or just simply wading in and then taking on all comers and still standing at the end.

Necromunda - Gang Leader

This is the original gang leader. He worked his way up quite nicely in terms of stats increases (cant complain about decent WS, BS, S, W and A). The red dot laser sight was an early addition and proved quite useful a number of times. The leg bionic may well have helped him out with an injury if memory serves me correct and the grav chute was useful when he was 'Diving' and 'Leaping' about. Medic and Inventor came into their own for the long game, helping my gang surive (albeit with lots of scars) and popping up the odd item or two to keep or sell.

Necromunda - Blast from the past

I recently went through my old hand written Necromunda gang list and reminded myself just how much of a set of dangerous madmen that "Dazza's Daggers" had become. This is one example (courtesy of the excellent roster available at Yaktribe)
Brought up in the gang from a Juve he managed to get all the stat and characteristic advances you could ever want if you wanted to become a dual pistol wielding, super shooting, gunfighter in the underhive.

More Bretonnian foot on the way

My latest painting project is plenty of Bretonnian foot. I have a massive amount of Bretonnians and they have not seen a lick of paint since the day I bought them (ohh... shall we say nigh on 20 years ago?). I have finished up some Foot Squires but the latest batch are a unit of Men at Arms with halberds, another unit of Foot Knights and a unit of Archers.

Into the Fray!

Welcome to what will probably be an infrequent and occasional blog about my wargaming hobby through the years. I started 'back in the day' (how I hate that phrase uttered by 10 year olds as if they were referring to something that happened back in their family ancestry!) with Advanced Space Crusade from Woolworths (remember Woolworths?) This progressed very quickly into Warhammer 40K with a Space Marine army (Dark Templars, my own chapter and no, not the excellent one that used to be found on the internet, mine predated that but did not have as much love or forethought). This led naturally into a very large Imperial Guard army which is still growing and getting out of control. Along the way I picked up and enjoyed Necromunda, various Warhammer box sets which resulted in a huge Bretonnian army (but no real games!) and some Battle Fleet Gothic as well. In my more senior years I have been enjoying getting back into the hobby by finally learning how to paint in more than one single step. This is a good way for me to relax at the end of the day even though I cannot remember the last real games I played of any of these systems! In fact my senior gaming habit has spiralled a little out of control with a large collection of XWing miniatures even though again I have not really even played a proper game at all.
